Malbec is often the most underestimated of the Bordeaux varietals. Offering exquisite tannins, an amazing purity of fruit and ethereal, floral tones, this versatile grape exhibits great potential. The challenge for any winemaker working with world-class Malbec is to craft a palate to match. In the 2007 Tenor Malbec, we nurture these hallmark qualities of the fruit and combine them with a fully integrated palate, resulting in the truly complete package. As promised, an experience in a bottle.

Tasting Notes
Black in color, virtually to the rim. Rich blackberry compote and super ripe black currants intermixed with spring flowers and spice. A nose overflowing with fruit is framed by an undertone of sweet vanilla bean and baking spice. A perfect showcase for the sheer ripeness of the vintage. The palate is opulent and creamy with superfine tannins and an incredibly long finish. The balance is immaculate with every transition in perfect harmony. Only the second Malbec produced to date, and another extremely small production.
Drinkability
An opulent wine now, would do well being opened an hour in advance without decanting and allow it to warm up to nearly 65-68 degrees. Another option would be to allow the bottle to warm to the same temperature 65-68 degrees without opening and then pour into a decanter and swirl vigorously for 10-15 seconds and then let sit for 15-20 minutes before serving. This should show beautifully for the next 8-12 years, and would be best served in a more traditionally sized Red Wine glass instead of the very large bowl like the Vinum XL Cabernet.
